Few opportunities exist to engage with the humyn + more-than-humyn life in ceremony with the old-growth forests in the Olympics. This journey is a unique blend of community + solitude—carrying a simple (+ sometimes a bit heavy) backpack with essentials to stay warm and survive and care for community and the wild. And then we continue on, ascending through the valley—an enchanting sun-lit birthing temple with 5,000' vertical walls of granite to touch the source of the flowing rivers at the edge of the glacier. We continue South--experiencing the movement source to flow the beginning of another river, and we land there--accompanied by a meadow of wildflowers and emergence, and we empty our packs—we empty all we have been carrying for far too long—the pain, the traumas, the purposeless, the pride, the ego, the lostness, the dignity, the joy, all of it...
